Haven’t updated on work, due to irritation…The weekend shift runner went on VACA a couple weeks ago and I had to take over his spot, since it was just he and I on weekends. Nobody likes doing inserts for Sunday’s papers and they all want off, so we are the full Sat. night crew. I hate being Boss…
First Sat. they gave me this kid, he had worked midnight shift before. Went fairly well, I think. Second Night sucked. They gave me random people, along with the boy from last week. The boy decided he could kick back. The two others (which I found out later were shift runners) didn’t know anything about midnight shift and disappeared for 3 hours. One of them, I found, likes to complain a lot. She’s to the point where it’s not possible for her to complain and work at the same time. This I loathe…
Mom got moved to second shift and had to work with this complainer. She worked my mom up so bad; she started to break out in hives. I told my mom, if that girl were running shift again, I’d have to check on her. To my surprise, she called out and I had to run second shift. :o Mind you, prior to this, I only worked second shift a few times*. Went in anyways and pulled a double. Which only made second shift happier then a pig in mud. Apparently, not many like her.
Last Saturday, shift runner called out. Guess who had to run shift. Guess who was all-alone. Yah, me…Luckily, my mother saw the perfect solution. She pulled a double for me in return. Also, the girl I trained – may be moving to second shift. Which means, there will be only two people set all week for midnight shift. Seeing as how I work with one guy during the week and another the weekend…I don’t see a day off in the future, unless we get another person on midnight shift…Not to mention, when one of them calls out…
* STARS came in for second shift, when I was pulling a double. We got 5!! Which is the highest you can get :D YAY!
