Found out the other day our cousins will be staying here for a while. As before, they have to move out by some date and not in by some date. Only, this time they are bringing a dog that’s loaded with fleas – they refuse to give a flea bath – and has puppies. I can’t imagine making any animal sit with fleas, let alone one with pups. Especially when you know they will be all over the babes once they are born. It’s just not right.
Nobody told me bout all this till I was informed that I would be watching it. There’s no way in hell it’s getting in my room without a flea bath. There are special ones for dogs that are pregnant and/or nursing. They don’t care though; this won’t be pretty.
Another couple factors they forgot - Our animals and us.
This dog they are bringing in doesn’t know any of us. It’s first reaction, which is normal, is going to be to protect its pups. Hell, Sha did that with hers when Har got to close to my room.
Har herself should have been a sign. She’s a Rottweiler that isn’t to keen on anything she doesn’t know. Course, knowing my cats didn’t matter much; they were just walking prey for her. Hence Sha isn’t to keen on dogs. The other dog and cat shouldn’t be much of a problem; they are both passive. Either way that’s four other animals this dog can spread its fleas to.
The kids shouldn’t be a major problem. I expect the two year old to run up to them, the older ones though should listen. Least, that’s what I’m hoping :P
