Not Your Baby
June 17, 2009
One of the stores, close to us, closed a while back and we got sent two AGM's. As usual, we don't have any then all of a sudden we have more than anybody wants. Then the hours got tight, due to the fact that some of the employees were moved to our store as well. Course that did give the opportunity for some to be removed as well.

Unfortunately, me and my big as mouth, I told my boss that G was looking for a job - She jumped at the chance to hire her. If it wasn't for that fact that we needed the money bad, I would have never told her to send in an application.

Next thing I know, I am spending almost every waking moment with her. She mentioned how she liked to work with me and so it was. Even-though she gets up at 4-am and 1st shift would be easier on her she preferred to nag me for 2nd shift. Then the ride thing started. OK it does make sense. However when I am scheduled at 2 and she is in for 3 it is a bit silly.

When she is off, I still see her. Every night, like clock work, she is up waiting for me in her damn rockin' chair right by the front door. Nag, nag, nag all through my dinner and wind down time until 2-3am. Then she complained that she had to get up in 2 hours or less because of mom. Who, mind you, is capable of waking herself up. Then she starts on me bout how hard it's going to be on her when I move. And if she calls me by my mother's name one more time, I swear I am going to scream...IM AMANDA NOT ANNA YOU FUCK! Mom is a bit pissed to say the least. I'm her daughter not G.

Boss apologized for giving me all the old women (youngest is 53). However, in my current condition I don't think it's something to blow off. Especially, when I have to eat all the shit when something doesn't get finished, because my one and only guy calls out. Technically isn't that my bosses fault? For not scheduling more abled people on one shift. Especially since most of them are medically incapable of doing the work I do behind their backs am not supposed to be doing?

I understand that in my condition I am not supposed to be lifting certain things, or pushing others. However, when inspection is about to show up; who the hell is going to say, "Well, I understand, she couldn't (fill in the blanks) because she's pregnant." No, they say, "Why didn't you tell (insert name here) to do it?" HELLO! I had the youngest able bodied one help me before. It did not go over well, and since she hurt herself (not badly, just pulled a muscle) I am not going to ask her again. Since 3rd shift is in their early 30's I think it should be them to do it - not us. Or move them to 2nd shift. I really couldn't give a flying fuck. However, since 2nd shift actually requires work, they cry when they have to work it. Beg to be put back on 3rd. Course if they don't stop bitching about my relief she won't get shift class. Which means one of their dumb asses will have to run 2nd shift when I am on maternity leave. I love the irony.
